Surveys
The surveys feature allows admin to create on join, on leave or link surveys. An on join survey will be presented to the new users when they join the group, an on leave survey is presented to the members when they leave the group, and link surveys are any survey that can be created and shared using a shareable link. The following image shows the Surveys tab which can be found in the Engagements drop down:
To create a survey, click on the Create Survey button. This will open the ‘Create a Survey’ window shown in the image below.
Enter a title for the survey in the Survey Name field, Choose the trigger from the dropdown as shown in the following image.
If you select the trigger labeled ‘Days after team activation’ it will require you to enter a number of days. For example: if someone was activated on the team on July 1st, but you wanted the survey to go out on July 5th, then you would enter 4 in this field.
Select the role for the survey from scope dropdown, and check the Anonymous box if you do not want to collect the personal identifiers of the respondents. Once all fields are selected click submit, this will show the choose template dropdown.
Any survey that is created can be saved as a template, this template is available across platforms so that a similar survey can be created in the other groups at the click of a button. For this survey e.g. we will choose the ‘Create New Survey’ option. We will show the creation of a new template at a later stage.
Survey designer tool opens as soon as a new survey option is selected.
The toolbox in the left pane allows admin to select a variety of questions that can be dropped into the middle pane for survey creation. The following image shows the toolbox.
The middle pane is the canvas where the question can be dropped from the toolbox. The right section is the properties pane, where we can change the survey page properties including name, title description, max time to finish survey, add logic in the survey questions, and change the layout of question.
Once a question is dropped in the middle pane you can author your questions directly in the middle pane.
As an example, we will create a 2 question survey where the second question is only visible if the option C is selected in question 1. The following screenshot shows the radiogroup question selected from the toolbox and the text has been edited as required.
For question 2 we will insert a Single Input, both questions are shown in image below.
To build the logic so that question 2 is only visible if option C in question 1 is selected, we will ensure question 2 is selected in the middle pane, and then will go to Logic in properties pane. By clicking on the wand in the Visible If category, you will be presented with options of when to make the question visible.
This will build the desired logic into the survey. A preview of the survey can be seen by clicking on the Preview tab on top left above the toolbox.
Once the survey is created and tested you can select the Save Survey & Exit button to create the survey. This will show the created survey in the draft survey list highlighted in blue color, this shows that the survey is in a deactivated state as shown in the following image.
To activate the survey, click on Action and select Activate. This will make your survey live and move it to the Published state.
Each survey has an action button, The various actions under the action button are explained below:
- View- this allows you to view the survey
- Deactivate- this allows you to deactivate the survey (meaning it will not be sent out) but it will not delete the survey
- Download- this allows you to download the survey on to your device
