Teams Link Generator

Adding a Teams Link to an Event

Please follow the steps given below to enable the Teams Link generator on the platform:

Login to the platform and on the homepage, click on any of the group tiles. Once on the group homepage, click the Manage button available on the right of the top banner, as shown in screenshot below.

You will enter the group lead admin panel, here look for Content tab and click on events:

In events, click on Create Event Button, this will open the event form.

As soon as you click ‘Save Draft to Continue’, you will see the following options will appear. Under Event Location, select virtual as shown in screenshot below.

After you select virtual venue type, you will see the Teams button will appear on the form.

Enabling Teams Link

To enable the Teams Link generator application for users in your organization:

  1. Have your IT Azure/Microsoft Administrator who can grant access to applications sign into Affinities.
  2. Go to one of the ERG > Manage > Events and click on Create an event.
  3. Choose online meeting option and click on the Team icon.
  4. A popup will show requesting the Admin to provide consent on behalf of your organization.
  5. Once the Admin provides consent, other users in the organization can use the teams link generator functionality.

Here are some additional details:

  • The IT Administrator must have the appropriate permissions in Microsoft Office 365 to provide consent on behalf of organization.
  • The IT Administrator must have the appropriate permissions in Affinities to access ‘Create an Event’ page.
  • Once the Admin has granted consent, other users in the organization can use the Teams Link generator functionality by going to the Create an event page and choosing online meeting. Teams link generator will generate a meeting link and update Web Conference link input box with the generated link.

Zoom Meeting Link Generator

Adding a Zoom Link to an Event

Please follow the steps given below to enable the zoom link generator on the platform:

Login to the platform and on the homepage, click on any of the group tiles. Once on the group homepage, click the Manage button available on the right of the top banner, as shown in screenshot below.

You will enter the group lead admin panel, here look for Content tab and click on events.

In events, click on Create Event Button, this will open the event form.

As soon as you click ‘Save Draft to Continue’, you will see the following options will appear. Under Event Location, select virtual as shown in screenshot below.

As soon as you select virtual venue type, you will see the zoom button will appear on the form.

Click the Zoom Button, then you will be asked to login using your zoom admin credentials.

Once you are logged in, you will be presented with the following screen.

You have to click on the checkbox and select allow to give permissions.

Once this is done the permissions will be granted for generating the zoom link using the link generator button.

Please test the link generated by opening the event form, selecting virtual from venue type, and clicking the Zoom button. The link should get generated as shown below in the screenshot.
